I just want to take a minute to thank Maria. You may not like some of her posts, and you may not like what she has to say or how she says it, but she has been unfailingly supportive of me in this endeavor (and many  others as well!)

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, Maria.

Thanks for your commitment to this very worthy cause, Bette!  Our friends lost their daughter to childhood brain cancer about 22 years ago.  She has started a business in Seattle called the Chocolate Box and her profits from one particular truffle go to support childhood cancer research in honor of her daughter.

Bette, as for the last two years, I am contributing in your name to our local (UK) children's cancer charity - CLIC (Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood). It's not primarily a research organisation but it supports the families of children being treated in hospital by providing free, quality local accommodation (for those who have to travel from some distance to get to specialist facilities) and it funds extra doctors and nurses in those hosptials. I got to know it when the son of my closest female friend died aged 18 months - over 30 years ago.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
