How long does it take for swelling to go down
Being newly banded, I had three questions
1. How does long does it take for the swelling to go down?
2. i have an incision from my navel across the side of my stomach. Is this the place where they will fill my band.
3. I have what seems like a lump above my navel. Is this most likely the pouch. I thought it would be at the bottom of my esophagus which is much higher than this.
Please e*cuse the stupid question, but you help is appreciated.

In this journey there are no stupid question. They are all valid questions and we are all happy to offer help.
I was swollen for several days, up to a couple of weeks before it went all the way down.
My incisions are much higher than yours so I'm not sure about that.
I have a lump under my incision where my port is. It's the port. But it's much higher on me.
These are all good questions for your surgeon.

You never have to be afraid of asking "stupid" questions, we have all had them.
I was very bloated from the surgical gas but it dissapated somewhere between 1 week and 10 days.
Chances are your port is under or around the largest incision (if you had traditional lap surgery). That will be the area they access to fill your band. Your pouch, however, is the upper portion of your stomach, below the esophogas.
You will have far more questions than this as time goes on, so ask away.

in my case the swelling last for about 2 weeks and also if you are trying to eat what you don't supposed to will take longer lake I did. Big mistake. Any way just be patient and lessen to you body. One more thing in my case I have also notice that after I lost 50 lbs my port doesn't feel that low any more, I think is because I lost alot of fat in my stomach area.
Good luck to you!!!!
