I love my Fitbit

My background is in medical research and statistics.  So I love keeping track of everything.  I checked on getting a Bodybug but I just didn't want to pay over $250 or monthly fee for monitoring on the computer.  So I bought the fitbit.  I got it from www.hammacher.com It was $99 plus shipping. They call it the wellness monitor, but it says fitbit on it.  I figured if I didn't like it they would refund my $.  They are the only ones who have that kind of a guarantee.  Also there is no monthly charge with the fitbit for monitoring on their web sight.  It gives you a lot of info, including your daily calorie burn.   I always suspected my calorie burn was low.  It is, oh well.  Anyway the fitbit people are very helpful if you need them to help you set it up.  I wear it for 24hours.  You can also go to their websight to check it out.  It is much better than a pedometer and more accurate.  You can also use the sight to track your food and activities.  It is a neat tool.

I was looking into getting a bodybug, too; but last Sunday, I walked the mall with Frado from the Biggest Loser (he lives on Staten Island). He said that it was great for counting calories and calorie burn but it wasn't a pedometer. Thanks for the info on the fitbit. I'll check it out.

How is Frado doing?  He was one of my favorites.  One thing about the fitbit , they don't show you on the picture.  When you push the little button on it , it has a lighted readout with your calorie burn and steps taken and how far.  So you don't have to go to the websight to see your stats.

Frado is doing great. He is such a nice guy and will talk your ear off about his weight loss journey. He actually offered to give me his bodybug because he doesn't use it anymore. I'm not sure what you mean by "not showing the picture." I'm really interested in the calorie burn and steps. Thanks again for the post!

It doesn't show on the little device (in the picture on the websight) that you wear that there is a readout on it.  I hope I explained it right.  Gosh, if he would give it to you free it might be worth it.  He really should keep it and use it if he never wants to gain his weight back.  We all get over confident about keeping the weight off (before WLS), once we have lost it.
