Plateaus
I am a little over 9 months out from my surgery. I has the LapBand done on 04-30-10, I have lost 84 pounds but seem to be stuck. I have been at this same loss for the past 3 weeks. I am working out more and am hoping that this is just a quick plateau. i am truly happy with my results to date and would not change my decision. has anyone else had this happen to them?
Hello
What works for me is adding an extra day to my workout and uping the intensity 3 days a week. Since I am already at a minimum amount of calories that I want to be eating. I use my workouts as a way to break plataeus. I added a day to my workout and started interval training...bingo!!! 8 days later I lost 6 lbs and 4 the next week.

Thank you for the advice. I just started working out with a personal trainer and have actually been working out more than I was. I am now doing six days a week. I have also started keeping better travk of my eating. I am due for a fill on 03-16-11. iwas thinking of adding a protein drink during the day to see if that helps. I started wearing a pedometer and am walking close to 5 miles a day. How did i ever gain all this weight? lol
It sounds like you are doing every thing right. I think you just have to be patient. Our bodies our going through radical changes and it takes time for these changes to happen and our bodies to respond to the changes. I suggest that you should keep a log of your measurements. I measure myself on the first of every month. This will help you see the changes you might not see on the scale.
You might also want to try something fun. I did this and it was great. I bought a pair of pants 2-3 sizes too small from a local thrift store. Every 2-4 weeks I would try on the pants. When I first bought my pants they barely went over my knees. And I watched in amazement as they slowly started fitting me better and better. Just last week they finally fit me!!! I was able to wear them!!! This is so much more fun and satisfying then jus****ching the numbers on a scale. Try it.

Thanks for the advice again. this does sound like a lot of fun. i actually have a neat thrift shop 10 minutes from my house that I donate to all the time. They are associated with a hospital and the proceeds go to the childrens section. i never thought about the measurements. but it makes sense, you can lose inches without losing pounds. i do have a pair of size 16 jeans that my husband bought me as my next goal size. i am in an 18-20 right now. I tried them on a month or so ago and they were snug. You now the kind of snug that people say "oh that person should not be wearing those pants". I will try them on again tonight. my 18-20's are starting to get a little baggy on me. I went from a 26/28 to an 18/20. not too bad in less than a year. will let yo know how i make out.
