Fresh start
I had my band done almost 6 years ago. I initially lost 60 pounds, then I don't quite know what happened. Life, I guess. I gained back 40 pounds. I recently had a scare in which I had a lot of pain around my port, and was terrified that I had done something bad to myself by abusing my band. It ended up being pulled muscles (thank goodness). Between that episode and the fact that I am heading toward prediabetes ( high insulin level with low blood sugar, so I am now on Metformin), was my wake up call. I went to see my surgeon (hadn't seen him for 4 years out of shame), and the dietitian. I have lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks. My Gazelle has shipped from Amazon and should be here on Tuesday. I have been on Spark.com every day journalling, and am getting support from my family and the online lap band sites. Wish me continued success please...
I truly believe in fresh starts. Get a fill, watch your food intake, drink lots of fluids and exercise your butt off.
October was my fresh start and since then I have now lost close to 60 lbs!!! I watch my calories and carbs (simple refined carbs especially). I exercise 90 minutes a day, 6 days. It's a lot of work but I would rather be working hard and losing weight...then sitting around feeling sorry for myself and cursing the Band (that's what I did).
Good luck and check in let us know how you are doing.
Nurse... I am in the exact same position that you are in... I've had mine for over 3 years and initially lost 130 lbs... And Life did a round house kick on me... So I've gained alot of it back... But, I'm grabbing to horse by the raines. I get my fill March 4th and I am ready... But there is GOOD NEWS!!!! You now are alot smarter dealing with the band and life together.. You know what to do, and what not to do, purely on experience alone... Lets get it poppin... I'm excited for you... Because we have an upper hand...
BTW: I also cursed my band at one point too....lol

I GOTS MAD NINJA SKILLS!!!!!!!........
YAY! It sounds like you are WELL on your way to resuming a healthy weight loss regimen again. I think acknowledgment of a problem is by far the most important step to getting back on track. I tried putting my face in the sand, but that tactic never seemed to help me lose the weight! LOL
Congrats and welcome back to the loser's bench!
