Gettin enough protein?
So over the past 2 weeks I have been food journaling and increasing my exercise. I have felt my hunger (read: head hunger) has gone way down. But then I realized I am getting too little protein by lap-band standards. How concerned with this should I be with this if I am feeling good.
Just for number sake...I am getting bewteen 1,000 and 1,400 calories per day, am working back up towards 30 or more minutes of exercise per day and my percentage of protein is 22 on average.
What do you guys think?

I try to get 60 on the low end and 100 to 120 on the high end.. it really depends..
If I know I'm going to be lifting weights or take a boot camp class I have a yogurt with 12 gram of protein, a protein shake, or a snack of low sodium deli meat and cheese.. the protein helps repair muscles...
I would get at least 60 a day... or very close to it.
Your doing great keep up the good work

I think you're actually ok. If you figure you average 1200 cals and 22% protein, that means average 264 calories from protein per day. At 4 cals per gram of protein that's 66 grams. Pretty much in line with what most folks seem to target.
I shoot a little higher (80-90) because I'm a slightly-above-average-height male.
I would say on the lower-calorie days try to up the percentage of protein and make sure it's spread out through the day. Your body doesn't store excess protein for later use, so you want to make sure you have a steady supply going in.

Remember that if you are working out you are building muscle and protein helps with that. I just blogged about getting in more protein. Click on the link below to read what I am doing to get in more protein.
