So I started out at 213 when I got banded on 11/22/10....As of today Im at 190...

Im going to Dr next week for a fill to hopefully find some better restriction...But what I dont quite understand is how Im not losing as much weight as I should be when I watch what I eat, the amount and everything...And Im a waitress so Im constantly on my feet, walking, running etc...Then I exercise as often as possible which is like 3-4 times a week in my home...

I know the band is a slow moving process....But is it supposed to be THIS slow?? And I know that there is no way I couldve lost 20lbs on my own especially in a couple months without the surgery so I know I shouldnt complain...But Im just getting to the point where I feel that maybe I shouldve just got the GB instead you know....

How do I get out of this funk?? Im feeling some what sad and confused...

Your complaining because you lost 23 pounds in what approx 3 months .. we are estimated to lose 1-2 pounds a week..

Some of us started quite larger so we lost more weight in the beginning but I'm at where you are now and I lose 5-10 pounds a month with lots of work... it just doesn't come off as fast as it did when i weighted 313 pounds.

It is a slow process but you also need to a need paitence we all want instant gratification.. it just doesn't always happen that way so chin up.

I can care less what the scale reads I much rather be 220 a size 16 than 220 a size 18 just my two cents.. Good Luck

It is certainly frustrating to see the scale moving slowly but you are actually right on track. In my opinion losing inches is better, anyway. I would rather look better so the hard work I have done shows. As for the weight loss, if you are logging your eating, concentrating on dense protein, and getting in all of your fluids, you will see it drop sooner or later. If you really want to speed it up a bit try one of these three things they are not guaranteed to help but some find they work for them; (a) lower your carb intake, (b) increase your calories by about 250 for a week or 10 days, or (c) switch out your types of exercise.

I wouldn't get too bent out of shape about all of this. Get a fill if you are getting hungry too often but not just to speed weight loss. Being too tight can actually stall weight loss.

You can be proud of your hard work, it will pay off. Losing weight slowly is not a bad thing. You can use this time to find out what makes you over eat and how to deal with it. You can use the time to get more healthy, you can hopefully avoid the "chemotherapy/concentration camp" look that comes with losing too fast. It doesn't avoid loose skin, but you will look far better in that skin.

Good luck, Sue
