WARNING THIS IS GRAPHIC: Please discontinue reading if squemish

Tonight I had the worst case of gas I have had since surgery. Im nine days out and found myself passing gas repeatedly and the smell was like nothing I have ever smelled from my body in all my years. When I went to the bathroom to have a bowel movement, pure liquid. I also keep hearing my tummy rumble but not like a hungry sound, its different. Anyway has anyone experience this? did u find the cause? what helped? or how long does this last? Thanks

It is just gas left over from the surgery.  Somtimes it takes a while to work its way out...
The rumbling,, could be more gas just making its way along.......
Eventually it all passes~!!!!

That sounds about like the experences I had at that point after surgery. What diet stage are you in? You aren't eating solids so makes sense that your bm won't be solid. I had the rumbling, too. For me, it felt like the food or liquid was stopping at the band then it would funnel through and as the food went down the air would work it's way up.

Yeah... that one is familiar.  I totally blamed the gas on the dog, by the way.

For me it happened about 4 or 5 days out from surgery and cleared up after a couple of days, although I will tell you that I didn't have another bowel movement for about a week after that.  I'm becoming fairly regular again but it's a different regular than I was before, for certain.  Maybe one oevery two days or so.

(And no worries about the graphic nature of the...subject, we've all been there.  Other than our doctors, who else are we able to talk about this stuff with?)

I could be wrong, but I don't think this would be gas left in your system from surgery ten days ago.  It's probably related to dietary changes.  Many people have loose stools while on liquids (liquids in = liquids out!), and a high protein diet often leads to smelly by-products.  Hope this passes (hehehe) soon.

I am totally going through this right now!...The rumbling is the worst!..its like an extreme hungry rumble, but im not hungry...Some weird noises are coming outta there..LOL...I have been running to make it to the bathroom!...I just assumed it was related to this 2 week liquid diet... I too am having gas issues..I bought the gas x strips..no luck!..still walking around the house Honkin like a goose!

Thanks guys, I started  uses the gasx strips again that helps, I admit I am a complete hypochondriac sometimes but I think WLS has hightened it. I had a solid bm before that and then the liquid, now none. I expected this though...Thanks Again guys
