Puree help
I need help badly. Starting pureed diet in a few days and need ideas. I am desperately craving meat. Is ground meat browned in a skillet close? I really dont know how I am going to handle eating mush for two weeks, but i also said that about the liquid diet. anyway please help Im thinking oatmeal, and scrambled eggs for breakfast, but need dinner ideas. Thanks
I'm having surgery on Wednesday and I was reading over my material last day night. (actually day dreaming of when i would get to the puree stage, This is my 9th day on liquids). My information gave suggestions like refried beans, chicken blended in the blender with broth, SF pudding, grits (i'm a southern girl), oatmeal, instant mashed potatoes (loose and not often), pureed banana, pureed fruit in their own juices and pureed beans. That's all I can think of at the moment. It's early here. LOL

For my puree diet I loved pureed cottage cheese. I also ate pureed chicken breast covered in soup, usually LF broccoli cheese. I know chicken is a bit hard for some people to get down but I did ok with it. For me skillet browned meat was not enough. It had to be pureed. Now, on softs, browned meat has to be chopped really fine for me but chicken is easier for me. Pudding, and smooth yogurt also work well for the pureed stage.
I skipped the purees. I couldn't bring myself to eat it, I'm sorry. I made homemade deli-style turkey (but the homemade part is just me and my wierdness, you could totally just get regular deli turkey), sliced it SUPER thin (almost shaved) and it was delicious, I never had any problems with it; just took tiny little bites and chewed, chewed, chewed. I still haven't ventured into the red meat arena though and I'm almost 4 weeks post-op. I think that will be my next test...
I ate LOTS of scrambled eggs, omelets, soup and refried beans.

First of all if you can get a Magic Bullet do so, they are wonderful... I love using mine.
I love to do any kind of beans with sour cream and cheese and salsa, also bannanas with peanut butter with milk and some kind of choloate mix. I do canned chicken with mayo and anything else that would give it a good flavor. Tons of things in your pantry to puree with a magic Bullet.
