Great job. Currently I am trying to do it all on complete will power alone. He only removed about 1cc leaving me with 4cc in my 11cc band. So at least there is alittle bit there.

I would hate to see u waste time with a band revision. If it's slipped once...............will more than likely slip again! Also a point to remember is that many insurance companies are now starting the "one WLS per lifetime" stipulation. I would hate to see u waste it on getting another band.............and then have another slip and have your insurance company have started the new policy in the meantime.

Thanks everyone for your comments and advise. My doctor did suggest the VSG which I would love to get done. However, my insurance won't cover unless I meet the criteria. 35 BMI or greater. I am only at 30 now and don't intend on gaining any more weight. I can't afford to pay cash at this time, so my only hope is that the revision will suffice for a while until I can save the money for VSG. I am hoping that the repair will help m to lose the excess weight I have gained. I am told that the VSG costs around $17,000.00 is this right?

Hi,
Your information is not correct about the BMI issue. I am a 5 year bandster *****vised 3 years ago to a sleeve due to a slipped band and other complications. My surgeon who does bands, sleeves, and DS surgery recommended the sleeve becasue he felt I could have the same complications with another band. The BMI criteria only applies if you have a removal and later get a sleeve. That rule only applies to a new surgery not a revision. I had the same issue. Now if you have the band removed first and then go back for a sleeve, then you would have a problem. Either way, they are paying for another surgery. IF you want to keep the weight off for good, get the sleeve.
