I just finished day one of my liquid diet...and although it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be, I know it's going to get harder! Any pointers on getting through this? I have my GNC total Lean protein shakes, jello and broth...but I can see this getting old really quick! I really need some help from those of you have or are going through it...all comments are welcomed :o

Thanks Bunches!

I am 8 days post op and finishing up my liquid diet. You may be surprised and find yourself not hungry, or satisfied off of juice a glass of water for the next few days. I honestly have not been hungry at one point since my surgery. Cravings come and go, I am dying to eat a scrambled egg. But that is mostly head hunger. If you have a sweet tooth invest in Sugar free popsicles, easy way to get a lil fluid. Also SF Fudgesicles, saved my life. Good Luck on your journey

If I felt hungry I would just sip on a protein shake. I love sugar free pudding too. Those 2 things have been my life line. I am 1 week post-op.

Today I started day 3 and had a scambled pureed egg with cheese & salsa - yum, yum!

Good luck!

I LOVED strained wonton soup and hot and sour soup.  Those worked really well for me.  They are just a little tastier than plain broth.

You can get these at GNC or Vitamin shop... taste great and have great protein. 50g. I advise getting a good supply of them.

I am finishing up week one of my two week liquid diet. I know what you mean about needing to find new things to eat. i have been surviving off SF popsicles, SF fudgsicles, Danon Light and Fit yogurt(no pulp), SF Jello and pudding, and creamy soups (strained). I have been using protein bullets or shots to get my protein...Me and shakes..not a good combination!..

Hi Jen, I had my surgery on 1/21/11 I didn't have any problem with the liquid diet. It's not so bad knowing it is going to end soon. One of the drinks I have is Carnation Instant Breakfast. They have different flavors. Another thing you can do is get different extracts and add them the the Vanilla protien drink. I also had freeze pops, and drank different types of tea. I craved flavor not food, I was very nervous to start eating, I cooked meals for my family and just befor I would cook I would have a protien drink. The stangest thing for me was being full off the drink. (my kids thought it was funny). You will do fine.
