Should i get a fill???
I don't have much restricition, but i have a few episodes where things take a minute to go down, but never really stuck. I had a rough 3 weeks where i lost and gained the same two pounds. i finally made a few more trips to the gym and got past it. Some days I am hungry in 2 hours and then i have days where i am not hungry all day. I know if i get a fill i will lose more, but if i do everything i am supposed to i will lose too. I only have 3cc in a 12cc band. I do eat less now. I am afraid that if i get another fill i will get stuck often, but i don't think i am using my band enough. I am so confused just hoping for some input. I have lost 39 since october i am thinking it should have been more...
It's hard to advise you as this statement stuck in my mind "but if i do everything i am supposed to i will lose too". Not pointing fingers (I've made every mistake), but for clarification; if when you do everything you are supposed to...if you're hungry in less than 3-4 hours after eating/between meals, then you need a fill. Period (and it's up to you and the Doc to figure out how much fill). If you're not sure, track your attention to the rules/food and when you get hungry for a couple of days (that helps me). You're also losing more than the 2 pounds/week average Bander, so good job! -BG

I'd keep a food journal or log and also note your moods/feelings. Take the journal with you to your next appointment.
I keep a journal online at www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate, but others use fitday.com or fatsecret.com.. there are many many of them out there and the majority are free.
I print out a weeks worth of my eating/exercise/mood for the doctor or nurse (whoever I see.. usually the nurse) and this helps them see if I'm making good choices and really trying or if I need to adjust what I'm doing rather than have a band adjustment.
It's typical for the band to be contrary .. sometimes you are more hungry than others. It could be due to your cycle (if you're still having them) or how many processed foods or high glycemic carbs you ate. What counts is when you are having more days that you are hungry than days that you are not. The journal can help keep track of this too.
It's not the amount of fill really.. it can vary for each person. I know someone who's about the same height as I am, with the same band size as me and she's very tight with 3cc's. I'm at 6cc's and am just about right for me, for now. They don't have to give a large fill either. Most of mine have been 1/2 of a cc or less. Last few have been at .2cc.
40lbs in 4 months is a good rate of loss. You're doing very well. Congratulations!!
