Week 2 of Couch to 5K is Kicking My Butt!

So technically, it's my 3rd week, but I was benched all last week with a nasty little cold.  After the first week, I knew that it was going to take me longer than a single week to master each level and progress to the next.  I also knew after the first week that it was a difficult program, but geez...it's really laying the smack down on me!!

The thing that's kind of twisted is that I LOVE IT.  I feel challenged but I also feel empowered.  This program is beyond, by far, any mental limits that I ever set for myself physically.  So when I'm getting my butt kicked, dripping sweat, with my heart pounding...I'm smiling so big on the inside.

I'm curious as to whether anyone else got addicted to exercising after surgery?  Right now I'm up to 2 times a day and had to talk myself out of getting up this morning to exercise (which would have put me at 3 times a day).  I just love the way that it feels...and after I'm done, I feel so triumphant.

Nope not me, can't get the energy enough to keep up with 4 times a week, i'll do 1 day but ive been so wore out in the mornings. I think my iron levels are low and trying to increase them. I havent been good about taking all my vitamins either so maybe that has something to do with it. Thats great to hear that you enjoy excecise, i once did when i had the energy. Hoping my energy levels will boost back in time so i can get myself back into gear!

I know exactly what you mean about the vitamins and your iron levels.  I've been missing a day or two here and there and I'm sure I need a prescription for some vitamin D.  I'm sure that once you get everything going you'll get your energy back, and be right back into your groove   You've done so well with your weight loss, so high five to you!  I can definitely see it in your face and you'll be in onederland before you know it girl!  Keep it up!

The 'good' vitamin D does not need a prescription --- just get D3 from your local drug store

I take 10,000 IU about 5 days a week

Thank you Telisha!  You're right - actually seeing and feeling the weight come off is so motivating.  It could be all due to the fact that our caloric intake has decreased, but it could also be because of the weight loss.  I think it's so cool not really knowing, but just FEELING it all over!  I'm happy to see that you're in your zone and working it out.  The first few weeks were definitely the hardest for me and at first it all seemed like it was just too much to think about it.  I'm so happy for you   Keep moving and losing!

Hi Kasondra, c25k is a program that's designed to take you from the couch to running 5k in 9 weeks.  It's pretty cool.  www.c25k.com

I'm doing the C25K also. Yes, it is empowering and yes, it is kicking my butt. I decided to stay at Week 1 for a second week. Shins and ankles are a little achy. I exercise 6 days a week. Tomorrow's cardio....one hour of spinning!

Keep up the good work!
