out that the DS is statistically better than the RNY and VSG at curing comorbidities and getting and keeping weight off. And, that it allows a more normal portion size and normal eating style after surgery. Thereby being the "better" surgery, but there is a whole culture of VSG and RNY'ers here who call the lapband the crapband and don't think twice about it.

Doesn't anybody consider this kind of illogical? I mean if we are all supposed to be so politically correct as to not infer that one surgery is "better" than the other because we take it as a personal attack rather than an academic reality, what does that make Lap Band patients? The red headed step child of the OH world?

Is it only okay for RNY and VSGers to criticize the lapband but DS'ers should just STFU?

[REPLY]

As a lapbander, I think you can ALL STFU. We ARE the red-headed stepchildren, as far as FAR too many people on OH seem to believe. Hell, in your Hitlerian world, we shouldn't even exist.

Believe it or not, there ARE people who have investigated ALL the surgeries (yes, including your "Dog****" surgery as I call it, since you guys think "crapband" is so ******g original and hilarious), evaluated them all and BASED ON THEIR OWN NEEDS, decided to have the band. Not based on YOUR needs, YOUR studies, YOUR success or YOUR specifics. On THEIR needs alone. You have NO idea what someone else's physical needs may be, and have no business trying to shove your surgery down someone else's throat.

For everyone else to be hoping and praying for band people (and you Dog****ters seem to hope EVERYONE who doesn't have Dog**** will fail) to say "Hope you fail!" , "Enjoy your revision!" and other schadenfreudenistic bull**** is mean-spirited, not to mention pathetic and childish, and does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to advance your cause.

You Dog****ters can CLAIM that you are trying to educate pre-ops and please - do all the "educating" you want. Everyone considering WLS SHOULD investigate ALL their options, But when you come off like schoolyard bullies, you actually make people say that they'd rather have NO surgery than join your pack of ******** Do you realize that? Some of you do, and then your comeback is that you've now PROVEN that person shouldn't have the Dog**** I'm one of them. If having that Dog**** surgery turns people into the c*nts that most of you come off as, I'd rather be fat again.

So, as a successful bandster, 7 years out, who has lost more weight than most of you all, you can kiss my saggy white ass. Stop acting like c*nts and maybe people will stop thinking that you ARE c*nts.

And on that note, I'll keep my finger on the "BLOCK" button, because I know that the head Dog**** c*nt will be calling in her sheep/lemmings/toadies to come comment (and will comment herself, because GOD FORBID she doesn't get the last word!)
One last thing: the Pay It Forward Foundation would vomit if they could see the bull**** you guys pull in the name of "paying it forward." That's NOT how it works.

I like red hair! Half my family are red heads. So the lapband was obviously the right choice for me.
