Just eat something light is what I've been told to do. And then general liquids ( yogurt is okay) for 24-48 hours and softs and carefully progress or whatever your surgeon suggests.
Hi,
Every doctor seems to be different. My dr requires nothing by mouth for 5 hours prior to the fill. i must say that I have not had any trouble with fills ( touch wood) I have had great restriction my whole 18 months. (Just fat eyes some times)
I believe the thinking behind it, is that the pouch is dry and shrinks in a little which will give good restriction.
Are you having it done via Fluro (xray) if so it is a very weird experience seeing the fluid go thru the pea size opening. This has been a blessing for me as I am a very visual person. Every time I have a fill I can see that my pouch really is the size of an egg. It really does help (most of the time) with over eating.
Good luck. It will be a breeze.

Thanks so much for the info. I was wondering what to expect. And I didn't want to mess it up by eating if I'm not supposed to. I'm not sure if it's being done with fluro or not. I have my liquids and softs ready for the first few days after the fill.
