Freaking out
I know everyone goes through this. But my Surgery is on Wed and everything and anything is going through my mind. More than being nervous about having the surgery. I'm nervous that something will go wrong were I will not be able to have the surgery.
Well I'm going to go drink my Protein shake and see if it calms me down.

HI, I am going to give you this advice today and you remind me on March 8th the day before my surgery.
If you pray, that would be a good starting place. Or do something that relaxes you. Go take a nice, long, hot bath as you may not be able to take one right after surgery. Think of all the wonderful things you will be able to enjoy once you are on the other side of surgery. Visualize an uneventful, successful surgery and we will both snicker when you describe how easy (for lack of a better word) your surgery was. Good luck and I pray so I will say one for you on Wednesday.
Woosaw! Namistay!

At least you are getting your nerves out now. For some ridiculous reason, I was cool as a cucumber until about 10 minutes before they took me to surgery. Suddenly I FREAKED OUT. I was sitting in that room shaking like a leaf, all over. My entire body was trembling. Luckily before I could disconnect the IV of fluids, change back into my clothes and GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE, they came and gave me the first of the anesthesia drugs and I chilled the eff out.
It's scary, I won't lie. And when I woke up, I hurt ALL OVER. But that lasted a couple of days and it was completely worth it. Of course you are nervous, this is a big deal. A REALLY big deal. And I think being nervous is natural. I think I was more afraid of the actual surgery and being put to sleep, that's scary. But it was fine, it really was. And YOU will be fine.
They'll make you high as a kite for a few minutes during which you will make a fool of yourself in front of the doctors and nurses while you babble incoherently, you'll have a bit of a nap and then you'll wake up groggy and sore with a funny smell in your nose and a weird taste in your mouth.
And I know everyone says this but it bears repeating, as soon as you can, GET UP and WALK AROUND. The sooner you can get moving and walk out the stiffness and the soreness (BUT be gentle with yourself) and start sipping tha****er or juice, the sooner you will feel better and the quicker they will send you home.
Good luck! You can do this! And most of all CONGRATULATIONS!!

Carrie, we have a spot on the Loser's Bench for you with your name on it. We've made some room for ya! Did you take your "before" pics and get your measurements written down? You will really appreciate those pics in the future to compare when you are at a healthier weight. I look at mine and can't believe I really looked like that.
Thank you all so much! You really have helped me relax a bit. I have my appt w/ the surgeon today and then have to be at the hospital first thing. I'm very excited. I just feel bad because I'll be away from my Daughter because I have to stay overnight. But hopefully I get released quickly and not have to stay over anymore.
