Gulping water

Someone at my support meeting said they can only sip water after being at the " sweet spot".  I didn't really think about it until later when I got home and gulped some water in a hurry to head out the door and it went down fine.   When you finally hit the proper fill, should you not be able to gulp water anymore?

Some can, some can't.

I could even when I had good restriction for a couple of years. Now I have to be more careful but it's not sipping - it's proper mouthfuls. Just that I have to take a mouthful, swallow, mouthful, swallow etc whereas in my mind gulping is just opening your throat and pouring it down and sipping is taking tiny mouthfuls!

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I can drink just like I did before the band.  No problem at all.

Once I got good restriction, I could no longer gulp water, or chug water.  I don't have to take tiny sips, I just have to go slower. Your stoma is like a funnel, and if you dump water in to it, it's going to overflow.

NOPE...  I have to drink slowly

Right now because I haven't had a fill in awhile I can chug water but then I burp LOL

So as a general rule I try to take my time drinking water.. not soo fast and I can NEVER drink out of a straw some can but it creates to much gas for me.

I have to drink out of a straw.... I am weird that way. Straw addict here. I just let the water rest in my mouth before swallowing (if that makes sense) in hopes that it is a more "natural" swallow without the added air. Haven't had any issues yet.
