I give up!
I have tried, really tried to find a decaff coffee for my espresso machine which i find even half way drinkable!
Not because of the band, but because if I have more than one (very large!!) latte, I get indigestion - low down, not band related at all.
And I cannot find any that remotely resemble real coffee.
So back to fully caffeinated! I'll just try to restrict myself to one a day!

If you have a Starbucks near you, they have several decafs including espresso that may work to ease your pain. It also might be the milk (lactic acid) in your latte that is the evil-doer. Have you tried soy?
Thanks for the acidity info! So is it the acidity that causes discomfort? I always assumed, for no real reason, that it was the caffeine. It's a new thing for me - I have had at least one enormous latte a day for years! And this only started recently.
It's not all that bad! Maybe a less acidic coffee might be enough - keeping the caffeine!
I don't think it's the milk as I have milk with other things.

If you get a chance, try one that has been dried with the "cherry" still on it...the coffee will have the aroma of cherry or blueberry and those tend to be a bit less acidic, too (but more expensive). Generally, this is done with some of the African coffees (Ethiopian) and are available seasonally. You can actually go into a Starbucks and ask the mgr to set up a tasting for you to find the best coffee for your palate and acidity needs. Lots of fun and educational!
Hi, Sapphire, it's not really much of an issue! Not heartburn or band related - just very mild, short-lived gassy pain in my lower abdomen. Don't take anything - not there for long enough or bad enough!
Thinking of going to decaff was just a bright idea as it seemed like it would be better for me. I will happily go back to caffeinated but will take mrs's advice on the types to go for!
