I love and adore my Kindle. It is nice to be able to read hands free if you want. As lazy as that is! :) I love the fact that when I am done with one book I just purchase another one and in five seconds it is ready to read. My only "complaint" is the feeling of completion. As silly as it is, I always enjoyed putting the book on the shelf after I read it. With the Kindle there is no more books on the shelf. That is the only downside for me. However, when I can have games and my books on the same thing, I get over that aspect quickly. I would highly recommend it if you are an avid reader!
Hi Steph -
I like my Kindle, a gift from my hubby. I have the 2nd Generation model. I think the concept is pretty cool, but I do have a few issues with it. First, I like the feel of a book in my hands. It's a little strange getting used to a button for flipping the page. Also, I can only read mine for about an hour and a half before my eyes getting tired. I don't know if it's the glare, or if it's just something else that I need to get used to. My biggest problem - it's a pain to go back! If I need to refresh myself on the story, you have to go back one page at a time. With a book, you can sort of "know" about how far you have to go back.
My sister just purchased the newest one, and loves it! I really think its something you need to find out on your own. Good Luck!

I've had mine since Christmas 2009, and I absolutely love it! It has more than paid for itself with all of the free books I've downloaded. DS and DH just got theirs in the fall and it's turned them into readers. The best thing for me since I travel a lot is all the extra room in the suitcase because I'm not lugging a dozen books with me. The only negative is that it won't make me a cup of tea.

I have a Sony and find it very useful for travelling. But I would never see it as my sole source of reading. Books are much nicer to have, hold and keep on the shelf!

Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
I have nookcolor and absolutely love it. The nookcolor is back lite so you don't have to worry about having a reading light. I can actually read better on the nook than with a book. I have problems focusing and often see double. Well with the back lighting, slightly enlarged print, and the clear printing helps that problem.
