Going out to target, bed bath and beyond tomorrow and hopefully barnes and noble. Any good product reviews? I am looking for a good lapband recipe book and a cup blender oh and any lapband staples bandsters couldnt live without?  I have been leaning towards a magic bullet system. Anyway gonna stock up on a few things, I have been buying things slowly because I know how fast I get tired of things....Thanks Guys

You don't need to buy a cook book. Go to eggface's website. She has tons of WLS recipe's on her website. She has won several awards for her recipes also. So save yourself that money and just use her website.

As far as a blender, mine is just a generic one. The magic bullet I have heard is good.

I do also have several Blender Bottles. One at each of my houses and one for travel.

As far as Barnes and Nobles, they have WLS for Dummies. A lot of ppl like that book.

At Target I usually pick up the Balance Lemon Morrainge protein bars.

My WLS blog ( FormerlyFluffy.com ) also has a few recipes and some product reviews on it.

A good blender but I have always been interested in the bullet or nijia..
Easily used for blend soups when your on puree and protein shakes.

Good Luck..

I'm not sure about a recipe book but I would try looking into low carb books because with our band it's natural we can't eat a lot of carbs but I do eat at least 1-2 servings of complex carbs a day but in the very beginning it's difficult.. you don't eat much past your protein and a few bites of a fruit and or veggie.

I have a list of staples but you won't eat solid food for awhile.. I'm assuming you haven't had surgery yet? Please clarify and if you have then I will give you a list of items I love.

Good Luck shopping

Have you read Jean's "Bandwagon" book?  I think I've found that book the most informative and helpful out of everything I've read over the past few years.

As far as right after surgery, I found herbal teas to be the most comforting.  For mixing my protein shakes, I've always just used a tupperware drinking container with a lid and some good old fashioned elbow grease.  For pureeing down soups, I would consider an immersion blender.  I've always preferred those to regular blenders.  But I have heard good things about the Magic Bullet.  I just don't like to have to constantly wash a bunch of parts, I can stick my immersion blender under the faucet and get it clean in just a few seconds and I'm done.

Good luck!
