Quite agree - and, of course,  it is not the band which is damaged when it "erodes", it eats into the stomach tissue. And one break - OK. Lots of pieces...?

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Maybe one of the older type bands before the adjustables where available?
Just taking a stab in the dark because I haven't read the original thread you guys are commenting on this thread about. SO if I'm off/wrong, plz forgive.

Actually, I'm going for troll! It was a non-banded person telling scare stories about the band!

Yawn!

I finally found & read that original thread. Clearly a moron that has no idea what actually happened to his brother. My grandmother use to say "If you don't have nothing productive to say.... then say nothing". Thats advise he should have used because his statements make him sound & look absolutely moronic!

I love his comment about he just woke up with it in him. There's a band fairy? Well, slap my butt with butter & call me biscuit! My insurance paid for something thats apparently handed out for free. And by a fairy no less!

I to had to have my band replaced but it didn't resolve. Actually wouldn't take a fill and I went in for what we thought we another revision. Had previously had a port disconnect. Well anyway did wake up with a whole new band with the reps, from the manufacture in the or with me. however let me make this clear. Have had a band sine 2/22/02 have had to have two additional surgeries and I am basically a ninny, but would never give up my band or tell anyone not to get one. We have no idea how or why my band was as gross as it was when it came out. Had a black fluid in it. But I have my new one just miss my low profile port I had put in when they fixed my tubing. By the way yes the tubing is now longer than it was in 02. They had one brought to the hospital by courier in time for me. Be well

So the manufacturers can do the decent thing! Good to hear and glad that all is well for you now.
