Lost 100 lbs in about 9 months. Thirty by going low carb pre-band, and the rest after.
My secrets? Only carbs from healthy sources (no sugar, no pasta), STRICTLY following the band rules, and I started running and exercising daily about half way through that time. For a while I was running 3 miles a day. (Then the holiday**** but that's a story for another thread).
Good luck to you.

**Edited to add that after reading everyone else's response, I absolutely fell into the "fanatical" group when it came to carb and calorie counting. I keep calories to nearly half what my NUT suggested, and aimed for less than 30g carbs daily. As they say, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.

I lost 104 lbs in 9 months. It's no secret. I know that following the rules and changing WHAT I ate, not just HOW MUCH made the difference for me. I stuck to a very strict regime, high protein, very low sugar, no simple carbs only complex carbs and plenty of no calorie liquids, 60+ ounces a day. My Nut's recommendation was 800 cal a day, 60-80 g of protein. That's what I did and I lost consistantly. I never felt weak or hungry as long as I avoided liquid calories and stuck to real food.
I started at 330 lbs.

Like I once told someone else...if you want it bad enough..you'll get there. Its not easy but is possible with the wonderful tool that we was lucky enough to get. I've lost 140 pounds in 11 months and plus more if you count before lap band. Its possible! Keep trying and you'll be sucessful...even if you don't get 100 pounds in the first year..after all as long as you're losing thats all that counts. Best of luck!!!
Renee, I lost 100 lbs to the day in my first year. One of the keys for me was definitely getting to the gym and taking part in classes, using the bike and treadmill and weight machines. I also kept my calories around 1600 for the most part. I was good about journalling that entire first year so check out my page if you have time.
It DEFINITELY can be done!

I'm almost exactly a year out and down 102 lbs (sometimes I STILL can't quite believe it!)). The loss has slowed down quite a bit, but I am sooo okay with that! I continue to live a healthy, active lifestyle and no longer eat sugar, refined carbs or processed food, and it has made all the difference in the world in my health and attitude (even my EYESIGHT is better, LOL!!!).
- I walk 35-40 km every week (walking to & from work every day and hiking most weekends)
- drink 100+ oz of water a day, flavoured with crystal lite (my only vice!)
- eat 1200-1600 cals per day (LOTS of protein)
- have had 3 fills and may have one more next month (or not)
- religiously document my food intake/exercise on CalorieKing
I LOVE MY BAND!!!!
I lost my first 100lbs in 8 months. And the rest in the following 2 years! It's possible, but you have to follow the rules!
You can do it and you'll be a beautiful bride!
btw, you're already lovely!
