So sorry your having band problems also!!! Since getting the band I have found that a lot of ppl never reach the "sweet spot". :-(

My band is a 10.

Sorry a revision is not possible for u either at this time!

I have been researching VSG in Mexico for several mos. now. It seems like it may be my only option since I do not have insurance. My band was done in the states though.

Thanks, and I wish u luck as well!

Maria, I didn't read Stephanie's post as being directed at anyone - i assumed she was just giving a hypothetical example.

I am sorry you don't  feel supported on here - I have certaiinly always tried to sympathise with you. But you have to realise that losing your temper and shouting at and abusing people doesn't help!

I know you feel your band has given you no help at all but something has helped you - even if it is by making you more determined! You have lost weight! Why not just celebrate that? Hislady has had problems similar to yours but just celebrates the weight she has lost. Cup half full as opposed to cup half empty! Makes for a happier life!

Kate

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Kate she was definately referring to me. Most of what she said is the same or similar. If u ask her I'm sure she will tell u that she was referring to me.

And u have been one of the more supportive bandsters on here in my case and I do appriciate that.

Yes I do lose my temper. I feel I have every right when I am attacked on here. There have been some extremely cruel things said to me on here............just tonight even.

And how would u feel if someone attacked u on the forum...........but didn't even have the balls to name u and spread a lot of lies about u? I'm sure u would feel the same!

Let me ask u this...........have u ever heard me complain on here that I have not reached goal? Even once??? No! U havent' b/c I have never done that, and yet Stephanie wrote a post on here accusing me of having unrealistic goals. I am happy about the weight I have lost. I knew I would lose slower with the band and I was fully prepaided for that. I knew what the band stats were as far as EWL also, so If I don't get to my stated goal I am ok with that also. She just intentionally made **** up to start drama on the band forum! And yet I am the one that is accused of causing drama and "stirring **** up"!!!

As far as HisLady...............she is a sweet wonderful person! My heart goes out to her b/c of the problems she has endured with her band!!! And it is not just b/c of me ( I know everyone on here thinks that I am so bitter and all about myself but it's not true), but for ppl like her that I do this for. I want ppl to know in ADVANCE that the band can be like this! I don't want others to end up in the same situation like me, HisLady, and thousands of other bandsters! This is MY support and THIS IS HOW I give back!

Maria,

I know we've kind of had this conversation before, but I'm curious, why do you think reaching the sweet spot is so important?  You have said in the past that you have restriction, but just not the sweet spot.  How much restriction do you have?  How much can you eat in one sitting?  Do you not feel you get any help from the band with the amount of restriction you have?

I know I don't believe I've hit that sweet spot, but it doesn't really matter to be because the band still helps me.  My feeling is as long as the band helps me control my portions, it's doing it's job, whether I'm at that "sweet spot" or not.

Now, if you have restriction, but it's not enough to help control you portions, I'm curious how much you have in your band and when was the last time you got a fill.  What does your doctor say or advise?  I'm sorry if you've posted this before - I don't remember.  I would like to help you and offer support, but I'm not really sure what you need/want - except to hit the sweet spot, lol.  I just wish you were not so unhappy with your band.

take care, cat

Thanks Cat,

The sweet spot is so importand to me b/c that is what I bought. A lap band that would after a few fills constrict enough so that I could eat less food and be full for 4 hrs. That is what's advertised. If it never happens...........then it should NOT be advertised! They can't make false claims about that in advertising about other things can they? They can not tell u that the new Mustang gets 39 mph when it just gets 25 can they? They cant sell things with a lifetime warantee when it will only last 5 yrs. can they?

Anyway..........if restriction/sweet spot were not important go get ppl to have the band then they wouldn't be advertising it as a selling point now would they?

As far as fills..........last one was about 2 wks. ago. We tried the dynamnic fill and that didn't work either. He put in .5 while I was drinking and it went down just fine. He said he wasn't comfortable giving me more than .5 Well that night and the next few days I was throwing up b/c I was too tight. I went in after that and he removed half of what her put in. So that makes 5 fills and 4 partial unfills. THERE IS NO SWEET SPOT FOR ME! Not even with the dynamic fill! I now have about 6.76 in. As I have said repeatedly...........this has been a complete waste of time and MONEY!

There is minimal restriction b/c I do have to be careful about things like bread, pizza, pasta

I dont drink with meals, or 30 mins. after. I don't do carbonation. I do high protein, lower carb, lower sugar. I don't exercise as much as I should.

And as I just stated to Kate in a response on this thread...........I have NEVER complained that I have not got to goal! NEVER! So that is just Stephanie trying to start drama on the forum with her post!

I have lost 73 lbs. since I got the band and about 30-40 in the 7 mos. b4 then, so I am over 100 lbs. lighter and quite thrilled with that. What I am not thrilled with is the fact that I wasted $15,000 to get a band that has NOT worked for me!

So, you've lost 100+ lbs but the band has not worked for you?  Are you listening to yourself?

You're psychotic.  And a joke on this board.  I just tune in because your delusions of self-importance make me laugh.

Are u a complete MORON??? How does a band help if it doesn't offer restriction/sweet spot!? Ever heard of a DIET?!?!?!

That's something u'll be doing when u have to have YOUR band removed! Lol.

I really really hate to get in the middle of this, Maria but this question just begs to to asked:

If you had YOUR band removed, how successful would you be keeping off this 100+ lbs?

I'm not attacking you Maria. I have supported you publicly and privately here because I feel all banders need the freedom to post...the Good, the bad, ALL of it but I think you have gone too far this time, friend.    You say Steph was writing about you but you had to "correct" her "info on you".    Please go back and re-read these posts at a later date and you might see what some of us are lovingly trying to say to you.

Blessings & peace to you
