So I'm sitting here getting ready for my fill on Friday when I calculate that I have 4cc'c in a 4cc band...

That would mean that I am at capacity..But I dont have restriction and want it desperately.

Is it possible to fill over the band's capacity? Would it rupture could it break if they put too much in??

Anyone know?

Hi!  I have over 10cc in my 10cc band.  I don't remember how much I have but I do remember asking my doc this ?.  I was told that there was a test done where they put up to 20 cc in a 10 cc band and it did not break and that you could put more in it than that. Of course you wouldn't really do that but the answer according to my doc is NO the band will not break.

Wow, I never heard this before. I figured I was just about at the end of my road with 9cc in a 10cc band. I assumed I just didn't have a sweet spot. Interesting...

You got a 4cc band placed in 2010????

Did you go to Mexico?  I did not think that US doctors were still doing 4cc bands --- the state of the art bands are 10, 11, 12, 14cc ---- are you sure you have a 4cc band?

That being asked, I believe that the bands will hold more than 'stated capacity' -- but I would sure  be cautious -- make sure to have all of the fluid extracted and measured -- and then speak frankly with your surgeon to make sure you are comfortable with your fill level.
