Hello everyone,
I got the lapband finally on 12-19-10. I have lost 40 lbs. I can't believe it. I am missing the carbs big time and feel it's time I need to find a support group to go to. Anyway, just wanted to say hi.

Hi Carol,

Congratulations, you are doing great!  Yes, keeping the carbs low is a challenge.  Think of how far you've come and keep thinking that this is much better than the chips/pasta/pizza/bread/fried potatoes/cake/pie than you have ever had in your life, because it really is!

I'll keep strong with you, from California to Texas.
;)

Hi, Sounds like you are doing great.  My weight loss was slow, but eventually I got smaller than I ever thought I would.  The band works.

Welcome and congrats on your weight loss!  Does your surgeon offer a support group?  My group has a monthly support group meeting.

Welcome it sounds like your doing great!  Im still preop but I can't wait to be able to say I have lost 40 lbs, that must be amazing    Take a picture of a dress or something your dying to wear and tape it to the cabinet with your bread in it, then when you reach for the bread you will see your goal instead.

Yay! Awesome for you. Im still pre-op too. Trying to bust my butt at the gym to give it one last heave-ho before I truly decide to go for it. Apparently, im a judgemental ***** that thinks im better than everyone else. Not really, just know what's best for myself! I have found alot of great supportive people on here, and today, used the block button for the first time for someone that tried to make me feel less than. Don't be afraid to do the same!
