2 week follow up, port scar tissue

Today was my first 2 week follow up top surgery, and my surgeon felt on my port. She said that it was scar tissue around my port site, and that she could not feel my port due to the scar tissue. For my first fill she said I would have to have a fluro fill( I think that's how you spell it). I think she said it would involve a x-ray, so she would not have to stick me a lot to find my port. Have anyone experienced this or heard of this? How is the fluro fill?

Is your hard as a rock and sore? Where is your port?

My port site is a little  sore, because I just had surgery. But my port is on the left side of my belly an under the longest incision.

Haven't had an issue with the hard scar tissue... but a fill under fluoroscopy is preferred in my opinion. She can see exactly where she is going and how the flow of liquid is through your band when you swallow the contrast.

I had several fills under fluoro in the beginning, and compared to the "blind" fills I have now... I would MUCH prefer to SEE what is going on inside during a fill.

I've had blind fills and I've had two fills under fluroscopy. On the fluro fills, they use a "C arm" machine to take the pictures. it's pretty cool. The only part I don't like is when they tip the bed back upright while the fill needle is still in you. Maybe thats just me though ??

When I was banded I always had fills under fluoro. It really makes it a lot easier. They can see the port and hit it on the first time. I always advocate newbies getting their first fill under fluoro because until you experience good restriction you don't really know what it is supposed to feel like. This way they can get you to your sweet spot faster.
