A hilarious NSV

Last week I had a routine colonoscopy. It was not fun. They never are fun, but this was especially not fun because the prep didn't clean me out enough, so the whole thing took 3 times longer than it should have, with me thirsty, hungry, extremely annoyed, and wiped out by the whole thing. But...I had a hilarious and wonderful NSV that day.

When it was my turn for the procedure, a nurse put me in a curtained cubicle with a bed, table, and miscellaneous medical equipment, and told me to get undressed from the waist down and put the gown on so that it was open in the back. I nodded. Then she looked down at the neatly folded gown waiting on the bed, and said, "Wait a minute while I go get a smaller gown for you."

Did you catch that? "Wait a minute while I go get a SMALLER gown for you"!!!!

On the day of my band surgery in September 2007, the nurse had to give me TWO jumbo gowns, one to wear open in the front, the other to wear open in the back, in order to give me adequate coverage and modesty. But last week the nurse had to get me a SMALLER gown!

Only a statement, "wait a minute while I go get a SMALLER gown for you", the weight loss family truly appreciate. Some times a few words mean so much and provide encouragement.
Take care Jean,

I think I would have hopped off the table to hug her. Congrats on your smaller self.
Every once in a while I can appreciate a gentle reminder of just how far I've come.

I live for that NSV!!!  I realized the other day when I was out shopping, that I look at clothes and assume they are too small...if I try them on, sometimes they fit!  My head and my body are out of sync!

Congrats on a great NSV and for getting your dreaded colonoscopy!  My first one (at age 56) saved my life..I had a large pre-cancerous polyp removed along with 3 smaller ones.  The doc said that I would have developed cancer had it not been removed.  I had the second colonoscopy last year (preparing for my band) and it was 100% clear.

That is a totally great NSV. I have th have one next week and my band doc wants a scope as well. So when I went to the doctor to set it up I guess he didn't understand at first that I had already had band sugery a coupel yrs ago, anyway he said "oh you already had it, I was gonna say you don't need WLS". That made my day.
