Craving Salty Foods
I need help (in a lot of ways ), but my big issue at the moment is that I love salty foods!
I know a lot of you crave sweets, not me. If I want something sweet I'm satisfied by a protein shake. What do you do if you want salty foods? I can't be around chips, cheese puffs, pretzels, because I will eat the whole bag (and I mean a big one). I know some of this is about self control, but I'm hoping to get tips from fellow bandsters that have these cravings.

Lisa, I wish I could help you with this one, but I am in the same damn sinking boat!!! LOL
I can get by without sweets. I am a carb addict, but mine is with salty and crunchy. I have not found a good substitute. I have had soy crisps reccomended to me, but they don't seem to help all that much.
I think our only smart thing to do would be to totally detox from carbs by doing the induction phase of Atkins....once you get over the hump with that, your cravings really wane. Easier said than done, I know.

I'm in the same boat as well!!! Here recently it seems like I've been attacked by the salt demon...lol! My DH purchased some sliced pickles the other day that did the trick. I had 1/2 of the pickle which is 30 calories. It helped with the crunch and the saltiness and I'm able to tolerate them. I hope this helps...I'm going to have to try the Special K crisps as well...
