Not happy at the moment - really struggling (long don't hate me)

I've been really struggling for the past couple of weeks.

Two weeks ago I was in San Francisco and noticed that I had acid reflux.  I contributed it to the fact that I was eating really late, I had flown five hours and my system was all screwed up.  Oh, throw on top of that I had been taking an antibiotic that tasted REALLY horrible (Cipro) and I thought that was giving me acid reflux. At that time, I was not throwing up at all.

I flew home, and things got a little better but not 100%.  Then I flew out to Las Vegas and was there all weekend.  I finished my antibiotic out there, but continued to eat late and strange things so I thought it was my own fault.  I threw up on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and again today.

Yesterday I had liquids all day.  I didn't throw up, but had acid reflux when I went to bed.  Today I had liquids for breakfast and had some chicken and lettuce for lunch.  I've been throwing up lettuce all afternoon and can't even keep down water and/or soup at this time.

I didn't think I was too tight nor did I think that I had a slip, but it apparently is getting worse.

I certainly would appreciate any feedback.  I know I need to get into the doc...which will happen Friday if things don't straighten out ASAP.  Do you think I need to try to get in earlier?

Thanks in advance!

Kate mentioned lack of water in another post yesterday....that's also probably a contributing factor.

However right now I can't even drink water.  I thought I'd try again tomorrow.

I had similar issues in October when we travelled to Maui...foods I could eat at home, just didn't work.  I also had to be absolutely diligent about getting in an extra 16 oz of water (80oz) per day.  Lettuce was one of the culprits that caused me problems.  I have found that since then, I can eat romaine and iceburg, but not spinach, arugula etc due to the little stems that don't chew up well. I did two full days of liquids (hot soup in Maui lol) and things settled down, but I had a couple of rough days.

If you can't get fluids in, you need to call your doctor.  Getting more dehydrated is only going to make the situation worse.

Hang in there Julie...

If you can't keep even water down I would call your surgeon right now before it gets any later and see what he or she wants you to do. That is what I would do you don't want to get even more dehydrated than you already are. I hope you get to feeling yourself soon.

It sounds like you irritated your stoma.  The same thing happened to me when I tried to eat a bagel last year.  I tried to go on liquids for a few days but it got worse.  After a week with the same symptoms you described I went to have an unfill.  I was so happy when the doctor onlt took  ,2 ccs out and I was immediately fine.  I never had an issue again.

I was trying to ride it out, but I dont think I'm going to make it. I want to see how I sleep tonight and will call the doc in the morning if I'm not any better.

If I'm better it's 100% liquids for me for at least tow days! I don't want to feel like this again!

Thank you for your help everyone.
