Oh GOD! I honestly bristle at the thought.

I am starting the C25k running program again. I'm so not excited about this but I know it's a necessary evil. UGH.  So week 1, day 1 prepare to be dominated.

This is the second time that I've started this program. Week one is a nice warm up to getting back in shape. Week 2 and 3 is a little rough. 4 and 5 kick my butt!   It was during week 5 that I figured out that I have asthma. I still managed to run my 5k though even with the breathing problems.

So with inhaler in hand, I'm starting it up again.
Anyone with me or already running?  What week, what day and what is your goal?

I have a 5k scheduled on April 10th.

I would dearly LOVE to be able to run, but my poor knees won't allow it. Some days, walking is still iffy.

I have really been contemplating this.  Hmmmm   I dowloaded and printed the one for the treadmill.  I MIGHT try that this week.  I am on that thing at least three days a week anyway.

Good luck, Tiff!!  You can do it!!

YOU CAN DO IT!  I remember being scared to death in the beginning, but when I really started listening to my body instead of the stupid voice in my head that had always told me "You can't run" I realized that I could do it.  And I was really suprised to start liking it!
The first time you ran a 5K, .I was new here and you were totally my inspiration to start C25K.  I am running my third one on the 26th now.

GO TIFF!

I'm getting excited now. We'll have a whole crew of crazies out there running. YEH!!!!!

Be sure to drink lots of water. It helps not only to flush the fat away, but to keep those pesky leg cramps to a minimum.

I'm still recovering from my 1st two days on the C25K last week.  The pain in my shins, ankles and thighs really was too much for me.  Hopefully, I am going to start again this week as soon as I shake the cold I picked up last week.  Does anyone know if there is a S.L.O..W...E....R version of this program?  Maybe a C25K in a year for us old folks?

I don't know of one. But I'm going to let you in on a little secret.

I'm a SLOW runner. I'm more like a heavy shuffle. it's awkward. During the 5k that I "ran" there was an older woman ahead of me I kept trying to catch. She was my focal point. I would catch her and while trying to catch my breath, that gal would poor on the turbo booster. Oh- BTW, she was a speed walker.   So don't be put off by the idea of getting out there. That grandma in her Reebok Shape ups was in far better shape than myself.
