Maria,
I was on the VSG board and revision board reading the other day.  You do realize that often time band people aren't all that successful with the sleeve either.  They also don't have restriction like we do with the band they have a hopefully lack of hunger but if you are looking for the restriction you didn't find with the band it doesn't happen with the sleeve either.   All of this info was stated several times on the boards.  I don 't want you switching and then being unhappy again.    Reading this info has made me think I first need to try harder with my band.
Good Luck

Cheryl thanks for posting that. Actually most of he only ones I have noticed on the VSG or Revision forum that have problems seem to be the ones that had bad Drs. I have noticed one or two that seem to have food issues.

If you could post the links to the ones you are referring to I would appriciate that. I would like to read them.

Also the the VSG does provide restriction also. about 80-85% of the stomach is removed, creating restriction. It also works by elliminating ghrelin that makes you hungry.

I do hope the band works out for u! I know I am often accused of wanting a "magic bullet", but that is NOT the case. I realized when I got it that I would have to change my eating habits and I have done that. I also realized that I would lose slower with the band and I was fine with that as well. What I have a problem with is by losing ONLY from the diet! :-( And with 15 fills and the dietary changes I feel like I have given the band much more than a fair chance to work.

Such as?

I have the DS.  I do not see what you do in the least.  Most of the band to sleeve people had band complications.  Slips, erosion, no sweet spot, vomiting, band intolerance, a host of other problems. Not what you say at all.

Brianna I think the DS can be an excellent option as well!

Your are so right about I am constantly seeing on the band forum about all those complications u mentioned............plus there are quite a few of us that NEVER reach restirction/sweet spot!

Good luck with your DS!!! :-)

Brock it's a good option for those that have bands that are not working............as is RNY and DS. You yourself were on the revision forum researching a revision, were you not?!
