(1) Is it OK to do it on a treadmill? Seems easier outside, but I'd be interested.

(2) I am going to Cali in 5 1/2 weeks for 2 weeks. Is that enough time to do the program?

Generally, I need more info.

hi brock- you are doing awesome with the exercise. yes, you can do the c25k on the treadmill. i did. 5 1/2 weeks to do the program really depends on where you are in terms of fitness. if you are used to jogging, then it is doable, but it is generally a 9 week program and, even then, people are encouraged to repeat weeks if they are not up to moving on to the next. pace yourself. the last thing you want to do is hurt yourself. you'll get there..... remember, it's a marathon- not a sprint (wow, how appropriate, hehhe)

You can do it on the treadmill -- but if your end goal is to run a 5K (outoors) it would be a good idea to try to get some outdoor workouts.

As far as the timing goes, it is a 9-week program

I only made it to week 6 in my running program when I did my 5k.  Right around then I discovered I had bursitits so my DR made me quit running. I still sneaked in to run the race though.

I think you'll get a great jump start. Even if you don't do any running while on vacation, you'll still be ahead of things when you come back. And yes it's totally acceptable to repeat weeks if you feel you just aren't ready. BTW- I did week 6 for 2 weeks.

I think you'll enjoy the outdoors a hell of a hot more than the treadmill. We would plot out a course via  http://www.mapmyrun.com so I could compare how far distance vs time I was going.
Get a good pair of shoes. You can do this. It sucks- I  won't lie. but it's worth it. You're worth it.
