What made you consider the band over the gastro-bi-pass

I chose the lap band because it could be done laparoscopically  and the scaring would be very minimal. My dad had gotten the gastric bypass and had a huge scar down the center of his belly and his recovery time was a lot longer then what I was wanting. I think its just personal prefrence and honestly I think both surgerys are great!

Congrats. Way to go. So proud of you. Just curious. How much exercising have you had to do to look like this. I have to admit I am not the biggest fan of exercising. But, it has to be done. LOL.

Thank you! I hear ya! I know exercise is not what we want to do. It's not something we consider fun, or even something we want to set aside 30 minutes for. When I first started this journey I despised exercising!! I had not been on a treadmill in years; I hated the thought of it! I had excuse after excuse why I couldn't or didn't exercise. Then one day it clicked, I had to do more! I had to exercise because my weight wasn't falling off like I had pictured in my head that it would. I had a lot of people that were against me getting the band and I wanted to prove them all wrong so I made them my motivation. At first I just walked 30min. on the treadmill. I would time it so one of my favorite TV shows were on and I would walk at that time. It didn't matter if my house was a mess, or if I was in my work out clothes all day, I made it a promise to myself that I was going to take 30min to exercise even if that was the only thing that I got accomplished. And some days it was the only thing that got done. But at least it got done. A trick I learned is if you put your work out clothes on when you wake up, it’s a lot harder to take them off if you haven’t exercised. I wish I could say it was easy, but I can tell you it will get easier. Once you can make exercise part of your routine, you will notice a difference!! Still to this day I only do 30 min on the treadmill because I still hate it! LOL! But I know the exercise along with my lap band has been the success to my weight loss. I do need to mention that I did have some plastics as well to get rid of the extra skin. You can view my profile to see my pictures. I wish you all the success in the world! Good luck with your journey.

Congratulations on your awesome results and very positive attitude!  This part on exercise is really inspiring to me because I know that it's the missing piece to me reaching my goal.  30 minutes a day.  I CAN do it!  I'm worth it!

Thank you!

Congratulations on you're 3rd bandiversary.  You have don't a fabulous job working you band.  I am so thrilled that you've had such great success.  I totally agree about the exercising.  I use to hate exercise but it has help me get to goal and has been helping stay there.
