I had lapband surgery about 3 1/2 mos ago, had been doing really well until the past week and 1/2  I'm craving sweets, carbs, and am so hungry and just can't get enough to eat,  I'm falling back into my old ways. Why is this happening? I've lost only 1 lb in the last 3 wks and am so sad, angry, and frustrated. How can I get back on track  ??? Please help, any suggestions appreciated. I only have 3 or 3.2cc in my 10cc band. I probably should of called and gotten an appt last week.

Dense protein will keep you full longer. If you are going to have carbs, have them come from fruit. Hang in there!! Try a SF pudding to see if it cures the sweet craving.

Oddly, sometimes eating something salty cures my sugar cravings.  Try a dill pickle or beef jerky and see if that works.  Early on I made fill appts every 6 weeks.  You can always cancel if you don't need a fill, but you have the appointment if you do.

I also used popcicles, 25 calorie hot chocolate and SF pudding a lot when I craved sweets/

Hang in there and get a fill!

When I'm really craving something sweet I have breyers Carb Smart ice cream bars on hand.  Everyone's sweet tooth is different find something sweet and low calorie and low carb to satify your sweet tooth.  If you go for the fat free chocolate pudding...try freezing it first.  It tastes like those pudding pops.

Norma sorry you are having these cravings. How you handle them now can set a pattern for you so try Carbmaster yogurt (its a Kroger brand) they have good flavors and usually no more than 4 carbs and 80 calories.  It really works.  As another person already stated. Protein first, its filling.  Are you still drinking your water, maybe add flavored no carb water to your menu.
Wishing u the best of success.

Sounds like you need a fill if you are hungry all the time. Withotu fills in the band, we are on our own!

How you handle carb/sweet food cravings depends on the sort of person you are. You have had some good suggestions above. If you are one of those for whom  carbs trigger a long-lasting binge, you may need to try to cut them out and find alternatives.

I'm partly like that! But only at that moment of eating! So i can't eat just one cookie, i will eat the lot, but then I will be fine and won't need sweet things for weeks afterwards! So my way while losing was to eat my protein and then have a small dessert. If I had eaten my protein, i would only be able to eat a small amount and I would make sure that there only was that small amount availalbe.

A favourite for me is a f/f l/s yoghourt with bit of fruit stirred into it. Satisfies my sweet tooth but even if i could eat the whole pot (which I can't!), the ones I have are only 80 cals. And fairly good for protein as well!

Protein fills you up, CARBS AND SUGAR make you hungrier.
Yes, you definitely may need a fill....

Also, I 'd recommend drinking tea, s/f juice mixed with water, green tea all day long.

You many be DEHYDRATED which sometimes we mistake for HUNGER>.....

Try filling up on the liquids first.....

This is what honestly saves me from diving into my son's cereal box:

- 1 scoop of Body Fortress Vanilla Protein powder
(26 grams of protein 3 grams of carbs)
- 8 oz. of fat free milk (8 grams of protein, 11 grams of carbs)
- 1 tbsp. of natural Peanut Butter (4 grams of carbs, 3.5 grams of protein)
- 3 ice cubes

Put in blender until all mixed up and sip on half of it.  Put the rest in the freezer or so if you still have that sweet tooth later, take it out and eat it. Kinda like Ice cream! I do this like every 2 days.
I promise you I haven't wanted to pounce on sweets after this delicious drink!

FYI..The protein powder can be found at Walmart for $14.96 (2lb tub). It comes in Strawberry, Chocolate, Cookies n' Cream, Vanilla and Fruit punch flavor.

When I'm craving sweets what usuall satisfies me is a chocolate peanut butter 20 gm pure protein bar..they are pretty big and very chocolatey sweet.  And it packs 20 gms protein and not a ton of carbs

Filling/satisfying/lots of protein

win/win/win

I get them at walmart or costco

The cookie dough ones are also yummy

Sugar free gum alwasys does the trick for me. They have the new dessert flavored ones that I love! Sweet tasting gums seems to curb my sweet tooth, plus it will keep your mouth busy so your not looking for other treats! Good luck! :)
