How much WEIGHT do you lose in a week
I think there must be a typo in your post. Did you mean 1.5 lbs a week? I can't imagine anyone losing 15lbs in a week with the band. I suppose conceivably an extremely large person jsut might in the very first week....but really not likely. Or did you mean 15lbs a month? That is almost double what many bandsters lose.
The average loss is about 1 - 2 lbs a week. It is often more than that in the early stages. But as we don't malabsorb we don't lose the large amounts that people with DS or RNY sometimes lose. And even for them, 15lbs would be an awful lot!
But we all lose at different speeds and it is sensible not to compare yourself to others.

Average weight loss is 1 - 2 pounds per week.
I lost an average of 3 pounds per week in the 6 weeks prior to surgery (following low-carb diet).
I lost an average of 2.5 pounds per week for the first 6 months after my band --- and then my weight loss slowed down to about 1.5 pounds per week.
15 pounds is a great loss for a month ---- it is completey unrealistic for a week.
are you talking about during the pre-op liquid diet? If that case, yes I can see that happening. Pre-op I dropped some serious poundage. Not 15 but it was like 8 or something. i can't remember. It's a very strange a wierd time frame and you will be shocked at what you go through physically and emotionally.
Each doc is different. Some do 2 weeks liquids, some do 3 days liquids...it varies to much to speculate.
post surgery, there is a weird honeymoon healing phase. But after that, 1-2 lbs a week is the norm.
