You need to call your insurance company and find out. I had to have 2 comorbidities because I wasn't over 45 for 3 consecutive years.
Edited to change the BMI number...

I dont know of any insurances that will unless you have multiple documented co morbidities.  and even then with that low of a bmi insurance will still fight that tooth and nail.

how do u know you don't have comorbidities? do u snore? if so its possible u have sleep apnea...I didn't even realize i had problem sleeping till i lost the weight and gained energy and stopped waking up tired!  lack of good sleep can cause depression.you will need to ask your insurance co what their requirements are to be sure.

I'm not sure what insurance companies consider comorbidities.I don't have diabetes, high blood pressure,or heart disease. I do have constant lower back pain, acid reflux, panic attacks, depression, planters foot, and I can't sleep through the night. I also get easily winded, and that has interfered with my job.I work on a grounds crew at a golf course and I need to be able do my job without stopping every 5 mins to catch my breathe. My insurance does cover the procedure,it's just being under a 40 BMI is probably going to be a problem  :-(

Are you sure you don't have any joint pain -- hips or knees? Even if it's not chronic? Joint pain is considered a comorbitidy at least by my insurance company.

I had a 39 BMI, but since I had every co-morbidity there is, my insurance company approved it on the first try.
