It is pretty likely that I have an ulcer, so while I wait for my referral for an endoscopy I am curious to know what happens with the band and an ulcer. In hind sight I can say I have been having troubles with this for many months but last time I went to see my dr I saw the PA instead and she minimized my discomfort saying my burnig probably came from eating acidic foods and said take an antacid for it (she wasn't at all helpful). Now several months later I'm anemic and have tried to get my iron up to no avail. They completely unfilled my band today and I'll get the endoscopy as soon as it's approved but I'd really like to hear others stories and experiences. Thanks!!

Thanks Kate!! I also joined weigh****chers today. I have needed a swift kick in the behind for awhile, no time like the present :)

Hello Sarah

I have had my lap band about 2.5 years. I have terrible times w/ burning in my esophagus. I notice when I eat a lo-carb diet that all but subsides completely, even with coffee and hot spicy seasonings. But as soon as I introduce a white flour or sugar, it's back w/ a vengence.

But that is no way to live. I do not have any advice or info on this yet. But I am right there with you and I am very curious to know your outcome. I panic sometimes and think OMG I'm going to get esophogeal cancer!   But then I just have to calm myself down. I know this HAS to be a common problem w/ lap banders. I will send you prayers and await your endoscopy results and your advice from the Dr.s.
