Port infection - Mom Remedies
VSG on 07/10/12
Doc looked at port site yesterday. Said whatever I did it looked pretty good compared to what I described prior to my appt.
I said, well, doc, I just cleaned it, squeezed out some pus, put some Neosporin on it, and then covered it with a clean band aid and changed it every day....
It's called being a Mom... Being that he is German and very straight laced, he didn't see my humor, but was glad I was able to get ahead of the infection.
He says it's probably a stitch trying to emerge from the incision that could cause this reaction. He put me on antibiotics for 10 days and I made a follow up appt.
We should always check with the doc, but it's not a bad thing to put your Mom hat on!

I too am a professional gramma. Recently got a call form grand that great grand had a hairbrush twisted up in her past shoulder length hair. What to do?! Bring her to GGMa, I worked that hair and brush and 1/2 hr. later said hair was freed. All were amazed, but all in a days work for us "professionals"!
