Zee Starlight and the band bashers has picked on the wrong sista this time

I am their worst enemy....
People have been posting about their band "issues" since I've been posting here over 5 years, this is nothing new, but what's new is....that they have changed tunes and now are blaming the Lap band and saying that we are all DOOMED to have it removed or it will explode in our 5th or 10th year..., BUT what if we are not abusing it? Like 95 percent of the people that get it removed?
Lap bands don't JUST SLIP...it takes GREAT FORCE and forceful vomiting EVERY SINGLE DAY for complications to occur...as my surgeon says lap bands are very hard to slip especially if it's been seated for a few years, it takes some abuse for it to slip and esophageal dilation occurs from being too tight...if the band is way too tight too long it will make room and stretch the esophagus especially if forceful vomiting is frequently.
This is not a pointing fingers post, but I am just sick and tired of people coming here and interrupting the boards with a laundry list of LONG TERM STATS on why the band is going to fail or explode in our bodies or some type of horrific ordeal.
I really don't like to embarrass people but when people come here and look foolish with all their stats and lies and then ATTACK ME with their own short comings --- they have picked on the wrong sista....I intend to KEEP my band forever.
This is one example of band abuse in action: and what leads up to removal...she just got her band removed along with many other band bashers
Miswestergirl WasaBubbleBut ABUSED her band too along with Lynn.....I can't believe they have the audacity to come here and spew poison when I remember all of them over 4 years ago with their issues...this is why so many vets can't stand me, I will tear them apart, I don't bother people unless I am provoked..
Now I will go back peacefully to my fulfilling job.......Everyone else have a great day!
This is BAND ABUSE IN ACTION........

Thanks for your share...it's good to know that the band doesn't just "slip" but that it takes a bit to get it going...so basically, it's not as flimsy as they make it sound...that was a worry to me. What exactly is PB'ing and what does it stand for? I've just started regular foods today (surgery was 12-30-10 down 23 pounds) and it's scary...I have no fill right now, but am geting one on the 7th...and I was thinking i can't wait to eat, but now that I am eating, it's like OMG...how can I be sure to chew chew chew it enough...what if it "slips" down before I've chewed it (like right after you put it into your mouth) - that kind of thing? Thanks for your share...I am looking forward to this journey - it is my 2nd chance after a successful gastric bypass in 04 that went awry because of my abuse of eating during a highly stressful tiime in my life. I've been given a 2nd chance and want to use it to the best of it's ability. I was a soda junkie too (diet) and had to give it up - waited til the day before surgery, had an awful headache two days later but that's gone and I drin****d tea with splenda now...I do still miss my sodas, I have to admit...but don't want to take any chances...that buzz just has it going on...LOL!

do you have any stats that show that a slip occurs with great force & forceful vomiting?
i've had 2 - unfilled; corrected; band fine - working well. never threw up.
just wondering where you get the info you put out?

Three reason why slippage occurs
1. forceful vomiting BEFORE the band can heal post op
2. Surgeons technique, the surgeon placed the band WRONG
3. Patient abuse of too tight fills and forceful vomiting DAILY - 95 percent of slips occurs in number 3.
If you have not done either you may want to get a second opinion and have another surgeon look at the placement of your band, some surgeons can place the band too high - THIS DO HAPPEN
I really do not like you. I had tried to just distance myself. You are indeed crazy.
May your band last forever.
P.S. you kept the tightest band ever spoke of. You used to make everyone cringe with your proud descriptive tightness.
Sick Chick you are!
