1. Water, water, water so you learn to stay hydrated which helps with head hunger. 2.Start some sort of excerise program if you don't have on now. It could be as simple as walking and you won't be able to really excerise for about a month after your surgery but it is good to start early so you can get use to it.3. Small bites of food and learn to chew, chew, chew. Also be patient, this a journey and not a race. Good luck.

I have not been able to exercise because of a back problem that is aggravated by my excessive weight.  Do you think I will lose enough weight in the first month to make a difference? I believe that if I lose as little as 20 lbs I could walk around the track.  I will be on a liquid diet for two weeks after the surgery.

Hi - I am restricted on exercise also - have you tried water aerobics?  It's no impact and actually can help relieve pain!  You should ask your doctor about it!

Hopefully you will be able to have some weight loss that would aid surgery if that is what your doc wants.  You can try chair exercises and water aroebics as suggested above.  Take it easy and the exercise issue may not be one you need to focus on for now.  Good luck and keep us posted.
