Hiccups

Hiccoughs (sorry, crazy UK spelling!!) are the diaphragm going into spasm. This can be caused by the surgery itself or by pressure from food or gas above the band.

I had never heard of them being the sign of  a leak! I would be interested to hear why your manual thinks that might be the case sometimes - I can't see any logic physiologically as the diaphragm is above the band and so above any leak!  (Not saying it isn't so! Just wondering!)

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

omg... i LIVE with hiccups... i had my surgery 6/14/10, and have had hiccups every day.. i wake p with them.. i get them when i eat or drink... i just always hiccup....its become just a part of me...I have no leaks or anything.. and i do get them more severely if i eat too fast or too much.. but then get them for no reason at all as well!!!
