THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! TETRA for posting this!!! It really helped me clarify some of the questions I have been having as I am leanirng to live with my band!  That was really helpful!

I have learned one thing that is helping me A LOT I absolutely can not drink for an hour after I eat, becaseu if I do I get hungry too fast!!!  if I wait the hour it make such a difference!  I have to say I Hate the feeling of  being hungry and so I need to be careful what I put in my mouth to keep that sensation of fullness!!

Great posting!

The band may not be perfect, but it will be perfect for me!

REALIZE Band on 02/03/10 with
I have an 11CC band and had similar issues.  I don't think I felt any restriction until 8ccs.  I thought I had a leak, but they checked and the fluid was all there.  So at about 9 or 9.5 ccs I finally felt really good restriction.  But as my stomach loses weight, I keep needing more fills.  So I go in when my hunger increases, even though I have decent restriction and they give me a fill of just .2ccs.  Now I'm up to 10.4 ccs so my band is almost full.  It's just different for everyone, I guess.  I think you should just be patient and keep getting your fills every 6-8 weeks.

Current fill in 11cc band is 10.4ccs.

I recently had a fill after more than a year. I actually gained 5 lbs in about 8 months mainly due to no restriction. I was able to eat a full meal. But I realized that even though I was able to eat I had to make sure I was making the right food choices (and sometimes I wasnt) that's when I realized I had to get a fill. My surgeon did a "fit fill" in which he fills my band and have me drink water he then removes the fluid until I am able to tolerate the fld with restriction. It was a little different from the way he usually fills but I actually have restriction. I fill like I have just had surgery. Our body is a piece of broken equipment, the band and is a tool, and we are the mechanics. Like any good mechanic we must use the tools properly in order to fix the equipment.  :)
