Twice this week  my bands been acting wierd. On teusday im sleeping and Im unconciously throwing up and im obviously woken up by it. Then early this morning, I do it again only I start choking on it. Its really freaking me out and Im making an appt w/ my surgeon straight away cuz Im scared for my life. Has anyone ever gone through this before? I had my port replaced in October but I dont think it had anything to do with it.

I did it, but only once and that was when I ate and went to bed on it.

 2 thoughts:

1. Your band is too tight
2. You're eating too close to bed time

or, it could be both. Most likely reason is number one.

I have a couple of questions for you since I read your blog and profile...

Did you drink alcohol at all the night before you became sick to your stomach?

I notice you are about 20-21...have you made the lifestyle changes necessary to allow your band to do it's job, weighing and measuring portions, tiny bites and chewing thoroughly??

How many fills have you had?

Hoping to help you out....
Steph

well this happened about 6-7 hours after I ate and the food went down perfectly.
I rarely drink...and I havent updated my profile in a while I've been SOOO busy with college.
I've had a fill and its kinda tight.  but a .1  less gives me too much freedom.

I'm sorry but "freedom" is safer.  You can get aspiration pneumonia by inhaling your vomit.  You can die from that.  You don't have to be tight to lose weight.  Please get a little unfill.

It's funny, my sister and I were having this conversation just an hour ago.
It happened to her because her band was too tight. It happened for 3 nights in a row until she could get to the Dr and get just 1/2 cc taken out and now she is fine.
You really need to be careful about how soon you got to bed after eating; whether the band is too tight or not.
Hope its better for you now.

Sorry , that loss of freedom as you describe it is not good! Unless there is a temporary cause (high sress level, being ill etc.,) then you are simply too tight. There are other causes like eating too late but you say you are not doing that. Too many highly spiced foods or too mcuh caffeine can also cause reflux.

Acids reflux is a major symptom of being too tight and is dangerous. Not only does it make you feel miserable, it can damage the sensitive tissues of the oesophagus which are not designed to encounter stomach acids. It can also be drawn into the lungs and cause aspiration pneumonia.
