New here
I had lap band sx May 17, 2010. I have only lost maybe 20 pounds. I have had no problems. I have had 2 fills and the last time about 3 months ago went for a fill , and they felt I didn't need one, tho' I had not lost much at all. I can eat anything I want. I can't eat fast (which I never did), I don't order hamburgers, pizza, carbonated drinks, but can eat spaghetti, other pastas, bread pudding, etc. It's the wierdest thing. Twice I threw up (spit up) and it was because I was eating rice on lunch hour and I must have eaten a couple of bites too fast, the other was the same, except eating crackers...ate a few too fast. Anyone else similar??? I know I need a fill , because I get very hungry at times. I need to lose about 85 pounds. Thanks :)

Welcome, glad to have you here.
Lapband - Jan 2009 weight goal reached with lapband. Revised to VSG- 1/25/16
I think part of the problem might be your diet. Spaghetti, pasta, bread pudding, rice, crackers. Do you realize all those foods are white carbs? Don't eat rice, don't eat potatoes, if it has flour or sugar in it don't eat that either. Weight will melt.

Are you eating 3oz of dense protein and 1/4-1/2 c of a veggie at lunch and dinner. That will help with the satiety that you feel. Are you getting in at least 60 grams of protein or whatever your surgeon wants?
Like the above poster mentioned white carbs are not the best choice. Just because you can eat that, doesn't mean you should. I can eat a slice of wheat bread with no problem, but only have a few times in 18 months. Just because you get hungry doesn't necessarily mean you need a fill, maybe you need to look at the food choices you are making. I don't know, only you know if you are following your surgeon's food plan. If I ate foods that were high in carbs and not dense protein, I might be very hungry also. It all comes down to calories in versus calories burned. Your body isn't going to just lose weight because you have a band around your stomach. It takes work to lose weight. Are you exercising?
