Hey Ladies,

I need some advice on 2 things.  First, since my last fill 2 weeks ago, I have been craving something sweet.  Literally.  I have no idea why.  Sometimes it is really strong.  Ice cream usually solves it, but why is this happening?

Second, what diets do you recommend or go by to continue to loose the weight?  I know that protein is very important, but is there a plan that you recommend?

If you are craving sweets, you are still probably not restricted properly, make sure you keep up on your fills.

I ate baked moist chicken, a lot it has plenty of protein and keeps you full but it has to be moist and green veggies, like broccoli, collard greens, string beans and spinach, these foods were the staple of my weight loss and keeping good health, also walking DAILY and drinking water, it's not complicated, some people feel they need more a controlled way such as weigh****chers.

Good luck

i heard recently that if you're craving sweets, you might be low on vitamin D.  Just a thought...

That is the second time I have heard that. Have you tried it personnally and did it work?

Well, I take Vitamin D every day , prescribed to me by my endrocrinologist that I see every three months.  I started seeing her 2 years ago, before considering any WLS, to get my thyroid checked.

It's something good for you anyway,IMO, so it's worth a try I think.

Also I forgot to mention if you are menopausal this could  be the reason also or you could  be lacking some vitamin as the other poster suggested......

I am in my late 40s and I went through this....and gained some weight back, I was eating candy like drugs, but I am happy I have my band to control the weight gain with menopausal symptoms.

Hi there!  You might consider low-carbing.  When you eliminate carbs, it seriously reduces cravings.  I use SparkPeople.com to log everything I eat, and strive for 30-50 NET carbs.  You get your net carbs by subtracting fiber from carbohydrate.  I had to change my "nutritional goals" from the pre-set ones at SpartPeople.com to show me the fiber grams.  There's a OH group for low-carbers called "Atkins" that has a lot of information and recipes.  Just go to "Community", "Groups Directory", and type in "Atkins".

I didn't follow this during my earlier weight loss phase, though.  At that point, I was eating low-fat, gave up all processed foods, tried for 70g protein, and 25g. fiber.  I just ate 3/4 c. per meal.  Honestly, whatever "plan" you use is likely to work as long as you get your calorie intake lower than what your body uses.

Good luck!

Have you had your Vit D levels checked lately? Low Vit D is a reason many crave sugar.

I do take Caltrate 600 twice a day, but instead of chewing them twice a day I just chew 2 at one time.  Could that be the issue?  Also, I am 41 about to be 42, so hopefully menopause is not an issue.

Now only if I can just get the water down.
