Ive been doing lots of crunches and ab work in the last couple of weeks. Ive been having some discomfort in my port area after the ab workouts is this normal? Its not a horrible pain or anything so I didnt think I needed to call my surgeon.

Thanks!

I sometimes had that, too.  There was one type of crunch I just couldn't do.  It was the one to work the obliques where you criss-cross your elbow to the opposite knee.  I gave up on that and did a side crunch for the obliques instead.

i've had discomfort in the port area now and then when i exercise. My port has been kinda funny with me, but my doctor said it was normal to feel that when you are active.

Good job on doing the crunches and ab work.  I notice my port also, but it's my new normal.

I have to be careful at work when I lift the CPM machines, ( a passive knee bending machine for total knee patients)  The machine is heavy and I used to hold it up next to my tummy, well I don't want it to "snag" my port. So I hold it lower when I'm lifting it..  My port is easily felt, don't have any padding over it anymore.  That is about the only thing I have to do differently because of my port.
