Port Pain?????
Hello everyone! I was banded 9/02. I've noticed that I have some pulling pain on the right side about 2 inches below my port site. I don't feel it all the time, just occasionally. The doc said it would eventually go away. I was wondering if anyone else had such a pain and if so, did you do anything to get rid of it?
Unless your port incision site is swollen, red, or hot to touch, I'd say you're just experiencing the normal reaction of the port placement. Your port was stitched into your abdominal fascia and It needs time to settle into place. It's hard to do even basic body movements like turning over in bed or getting up out of a chair without using your abdominal muscles. You could try putting an ice pack on the sore spot, or a heating pad, but whichever one you choose, do it only for 15-20 minutes at a time.

I still have the occasional port pain. The initial post-op port issues didn't go away for a good 2-3 months.
