Thanks to everyone who wrote back.  It has been just a few days since surgery and already things are happening. 
I took all of everyone's advice, including the Dr's of course, and it has come in handy.  The first week is clear liquid diet and it has been OK, except for the times that I forget that that I am banded and GULPED some water.  The water did not come back up it just got stuck there for a moment and then felt better.  I think my body was giving me a gentle nudge not to do that again or it would pu**** back. 
I went to work on wednesday and it was ok, I did alot of walking and that helped out the gas in my belly and shoulder.
One challenge is getting out of bed, that seems to give me more grief than anything.  I think that will be better by next week. 
I go to my 1 week appointment on Tuesday for a follow up and get my new diet then.  This clear liquid is getting old!!!
