I am reading your posts everday and learning more about the lapband.
I am ready to see the Dr.next Monday, for all my tests.
Don't know how long till after I see him to have the surgery.
Can't wait to get the band, but I am also a little scared.

Welcome! Trust me if you weren't scared you wouldn't be normal. This is a life altering decision and experience. Just feel free to post and ask any questions cause there are plenty of us around to answer them. Good luck on your journey!

It's normal to be scared - it's a life changing decision! I have to say for me it was the best decision i ever made. Not only did i lose the weight, but I've been maintaining for a year. I never could have done that before Lap-Band surgery. Just remember, this is for the long haul and you're making a decision that will increase your chances for success astronomically over dieting alone. The lap-band is an amazing tool - not a magic wand - but a tool and you can be successful!!!

It is perfectly fine to be scared, it's ok though you are about to embark on a journey that is going to change your life.  Keep Reading the posts here and ask as many questions you want.  Feel free to friend me as I have gained alot of knowledge not only from this site but from my own experience. ( I just got banded 2 days ago and I feel great )

Each of us has a separate and unique story.  Your questions about how long??, etc can only be answered by you because each bariatric team has their own approach.

I was apprenhensive at first but it was through my doctor and this website that really got me going to complete all the steps necessary to get the band and learn, or I should say RELEARN about eating, portion control, protein, fats, carbs and sugar.

Tell us more about yourself......it's great to have this support, you will feel great and writing about it helps with the transisiton too.

You are going to be great.
