Did you check your protein shakes to see how many cals are in them? Some have a quite a few... My preop diet is 600 cals a day.

Call your surgeons office and express your concerns, log everything you "eat"/drink, and if they want send them a copy. I suspect that you will have some weight drop, yet, but if they know you are doing everything as prescribed, then it may all be ok. One cheat on mashed potatos isn't going to end things unless you keep it up. You may also be retaining fluid. Good luck, and we're all rooting for you. Sue

Are you mixing the protein powder with water?  If you are mixing it with something else, say milk, you need to include those calories also.
Be sure to drink plenty of water.
Other than that, keep doing what you are doing, sounds like you are on plan and your body will eventually catch up.

Also remember if you are not getting enough calories you will store things same goes with water so you can starve yourself and not lose a pound. Your body will hold onto everything you get. Keep track of everything for a day or so and see if you can catch anything if not you will most likely have a significant drop one day when your body catches up.Hang in there!

Check the sodium content in your broths, if its high you might be retaining fluids.  Also be sure to get in a TON of water every day!!  (96-ish ozs!!)

I agree with Tan.
Broth is very high in sodium, so you are probably retaining.  Drink lots of water and exercise.
Good luck with your surgery!

Did you ever lose weight? I'm 1 week in my liquid diet and having the surgery in a week and I'm dealing with the same thing. I am not losing at all and haven't cheated once.
